North Bank Lodge takes the summer months off, allowing Lodge brethren a bit more time with their families and friends, as well as an opportunity for some extended travel. Officially, this is called "going dark", where we have no scheduled meetings. Our first Stated Communication after the summer break will occur on the third Monday evening in September, 9/16/2013, with dinner at 6:30 pm, and our Stated Communication beginning at 7:30 pm. While we may not be meeting, the brothers of North Bank are by no means idle. Quite a bit of work in the quarry is still going on during July and August! Our Worshipful Master David Coffing is presently on a trip he has long looked forward to, a tour around Scotland, visiting many Masonic sites along the way. I believe he also has arranged to attend a Communication at Lodge Mother Kilwinning 0, the Mother Lodge of Scotland. Some date this lodge as being active as far back as 1140AD; truly a unique experience!(Congratulations to WB John Laws!) And to cap off a truly Masonic day, he attended a lecture by noted Masonic Author Chris Hodap, co-hosted by Mt. Hood Lodge #32 F&AM and Friendship Masonic Lodge #160, AF&AM: (Photo Credit: WB Dale Palileo, Friendship #160) (Left to Right: Br Jeff Brunsdon, WB Chris Hodapp, WB Hank Schaffer) On top of all this, we are planning a dual FC degree for sometime this summer for a candidate from North Bank Lodge, along with another brother from Washington Lodge #4. Add to this an upcoming Lodge picnic, and many other opportunities for fellowship during the summer (Br Kurt Gazow and Br Jeff Brunsdon enjoyed each others company at the Washougal Fireworks Show), there's a lot going on at our little lodge on the North Bank of the Columbia. Best wishes to all for a safe and happy summer. We look forward to your next visit! Kurt Gazow Junior Warden North Bank Lodge #182 |
