Greetings from the East (March 2015)

Many thanks to the Brethren who attended the memorial and grave- side services on Friday, February 20th, for our dearly departed Brother, VWB Cecil L. Tackett. There were at least a total of 25-30 Masons from North Bank #182, Washington #4, Mt. Hood #32 and Silver Star #286, attending both the Memorial and Committal Services, along with two Motor Escort Brothers from Al Kader Shrine.

Additionally, through the efforts of our WB Ed Holterman, the Patriot Guard served as escorts to the hears traveling from Zion Lutheran /church to Evergreen Memorial /Gardens in Vancouver. WB Ron Brown, owner of Brown’s Funeral Home, was an excellent help in coordinating both services.

VWB Cecil’s family has requested memorial contributions in his name be made to either the Shrine Hospital or the Diabetes Association. These contributions can be mailed to North Bank Lodge #182, P.O. Box 164, Washougal, WA 98671 and will be forwarded to the requested charity.

VWB Cecil’s Legacy is very much the same as the following:

“To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent per- sons and endure the betrayal of false friends; to give one’s best and leave the world a bit better; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and song with exaltation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived- - -this is to have succeeded.”
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

So may it ever be for us all!!

Fraternally,

Don Fitzgerald, WM
