Recently, the mayor of Washougal put out a call to find some help with a project. His goal was to see the City of Washougal show a bit of patriotism for the 4th of July. Calls and emails went out around the community, and orders for flag kits (flag, pole, and holder) flooded in. On the last Saturday in June of 2012, brothers from North Bank Lodge joined with several other civic organizations (Lions, Camas Washougal Rotary, Boy Scouts) to distribute and install these flags around our community. Representing North Bank Lodge on this project were Brothers Kurt Gazow, Jim Copeland, Anthony Crawley, and Frank Moxley. All present divided up into teams and took neighborhood assignments around Washougal, installing a wonderful flag kit, displayed proudly on homes around our community. It was great to proudly wear a square and compass, while helping our neighbors celebrate the founding of our great country. To our neighbors and Brother Masons, we wish you a healthy and safe fourth of July celebration! Let us all take a moment to honor our flag, which represents free speech, free worship; the rights of free men, and Freemasons. So mote it be! |
